Zay Flowers: ‘It was killing me’ to miss playoffs with knee injury

Baltimore’s Zay Flowers took a step forward in his sophomore season, becoming the first Ravens wide receiver to earn a spot in the Pro Bow.

But Flowers was unable to play in Baltimore’s two postseason games because of a knee injury suffered in the Week 18 win over Cleveland. It was tough for the young receiver to deal with, knowing how he could potentially help the offense.

“It killed me for sure,” Flowers said Monday, via the team transcript. “I want to be there every game. I want to go through everything they’re going through, so not being there, it took a toll on me a little bit, just watching it and not being able to participate and do what I wanted to do and help the team.”

Flowers added that he feels like he would have a better chance to play in the AFC Championship game if the team were to advance.

But now Baltimore’s season is over and Flowers said not being able to participate will help set him up for 2025.

“Definitely, because you want to play your last game,” Flowers said. “You want to play every game and you can’t play, that kind of bugged me.”

Flowers finished 2024 with 74 catches for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns.
