Winners, losers of the NASCAR CUP race at Texas Motor Speedway won by Joey Logano


A look at the winners and losers from Sunday’s cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Winners

Joey Logano – He was the first ruling cup champion that did not have a top five final through the first ten races of the next season, but changed the storyline by winning Sunday’s race. The win is the 37th of his career and it comes a week after his fifth place in Talladega was disqualified for an inspection after the race. Logano said: ‘I said my wife last week before we left (to Texas), I said,’ Look, we will win this one. “That’s just how we do things.

Trackhouse Racing – The team put two of its cars in the top -10 for the second time this season (Las Vegas was the other). Ross Chastain finishes second. Daniel Suarez was 10th place for his second consecutive Top 10. Shane van Gisbergen’s 22nd place was his second top 25 in the last eight races.

Legacy Motor Club – The team had both of its cars in the top 10 for the first time since the season opening daytona 500. Erik Jones finished a best fifth season, his first top 10 in the last 16 races, dating back to the play-off match in Talladega. John Hunter Nemechek finished eighth for his first top -10 since Atlanta, the second race of the season.

Ryan Blaney – Third finished after not ending four of the previous seven races.

Ricky Stenhouse jr. . His sixth place was his second top 10 of the season and his best endpoint in Texas.

Austin Dillon – His end point of seventh place gives him three consecutive Top-10’s connected to Kyle Larson for the longest active line in the series after Larson finished fourth.

Ty Dillon – He was on the outside of the ninth row (the 18th place) for the overtime re -started, went up and was four wide while earning positions. He gathered to finish 12th for his best end of the season, and this comes after the past two races have come out over the past two races, until the end of the top -20.

Joey Logano scored his first cup victory of the season in Texas on Sunday.

Losers

Denny Hamlin – The blown car led to a last place in the field of 38 cars and cut its streak of finishing on the front shot for 21 consecutive races.

Josh Berry – The Las Vegas winner led as he crashed and finished 32nd place.

Brad Keselowski – He was collected in a multi-car accident and finished 28th. The former cup champion finished 26th or worse in five of the last six races.
