A look at the winners and losers from Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway:
Austin Cindric – He cut a winning line of 30 races with his win on Talladega on Sunday. He came close to winning the Daytona 500 and in Atlanta this year until late incidents. This time there were no problems and Cindric won to achieve his third career victory.
Team Penske – The organization led 54.8% of the rounds at Daytona and Atlanta, but also did not win and ended only one top five in one of the race on the essay traces. While Team Penske only led 31 rounds on Sunday, it won – the first win of the cup season.
Hendrick Motorsports – Put all four cars in the top -10, which was only the second time the team did it at Talladega. Kyle Larson was second, William Byron third, Chase Elliott Fifth and Alex Bowman seventh.
Noah Gragson – He finished a season-best fourth for his second top 10 of the year. This is the 11th time in the last 12 races.
Ryan Preece – Nascar took his runner -up from the runner -up when his car failed on Sunday night after the race inspection.
Joey Logano – Nascar finished his fifth place when his car failed on Sunday night after the race inspection.
Brad Keselowski – Eliminated in an accident when he and a few other cars tried in the first phase. Keselowski finished 36th – the seventh time he finished 26th or worse in the first ten races of the season. Keselowski fell into the points to 32nd.
Ryan Blaney – Couldn’t avoid Brad Keselowski and hit his car and end his race. Blaney finishes 37th. This is his fourth DNF of the season.
Christopher Bell – A tap from teammate Denny Hamlin turned him around as he led late in the front lead and sent him to Chris Buescher and the inside of the inside of the backstretch. Bell ends a 35th season.
Ty Dillon – Ran into the top -10, which would have been his best end of the season until he stopped at the last round. He finished 23rd.
