Winners, losers of Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR CUP race won by Ross Chastain

Concord, NC-a look at the winners and losers of Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 on Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Winners

Ross Chastain – He tracked William Byron in the last rounds before passing him with six laps to achieve his first cup crown jewel. The victory came after he destroyed the day before and went to a backup car and forced him to start at the back of the field.

The winning pass comes with five laps transferred in Nascar’s longest race.

Trackhouse Racing – The team achieves its first win of the year amid challenging circumstances. Ross Chastain’s wreck in practice on Saturday forced the team to go to a backup car. With the store near the track, the team returned and converted what the backup car would be for this weekend’s race at Nashville in the Coca-Cola 600 car. Crew members worked until 2:30 a.m. and returned around 05:30.

Chase Briscoe – His third place is his best of the season.

Brad Keselowski – His fifth place was his first top 10 of the season. Although this is an achievement for the team, Keselowski is focused on more and says after the race: “I want to win.”

Michael McDowell – His end point of seventh place was his first top 10 of the year and his best career result at Charlotte.

Losers

Denny Hamlin – His chances of winning end when he had to go with 12 laps because he had no fuel. He finished 16th.

Kyle Larson – He competed in both Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600, but he also did not end due to accidents.

Crashes ended Kyle Larson’s races in Indianapolis and Charlotte.

Bubba Wallace – He finished 35th place, with the third consecutive points race he placed 33rd or worse. Wallace dropped from seventh place in the points to 12th place in the season during that stretch.
