Darlington, SC – A look at the winners and losers of Sunday’s cup race at Darlington Raceway.
Denny Hamlin – His pit staff got him the lead before the overtime starts again, and he took it from there to win the second week in a row. “When they dropped the jack on the right,” Hamlin said about his pit staff at that last stop, “I know,” oh, boy, it’s going to be a heater. ” His victories over the past two weekends have gone from eighth to second in the points.
Joe Gibbs Racing – Much was made about JGR who did Winless in the last 18 races of last season. Guess what? Joe Gibbs Racing won five of the first eight points races this season.
William Byron – Led the first 243 rounds before finishing second for his third top two-end point in the first eight races of the year.
Christopher Bell – His third place finishes the fifth time he was placed in the top three in the first eight races of the season. He has three wins, a runner-up and a third place this year.
Kyle Busch – His finish in 10th place moved him to the last playoff game. He also cut a line of three consecutive finishes of the 17th or worse with Sunday’s result.
Ryan Blaney – His end point of his fifth place hampered his line of five consecutive finishes outside the top 10.

William Byron – Led 243 of 297 laps and did not win.
Ryan Blaney – Lost the lead on Pit Road before the overtime began again, giving him the chance to win.
Kyle Larson – Crashed on the third round, spent more than 150 laps in the garage for repairs and then crashed at the end to send the race to overtime. He finished 37th.
Alex Bowman – Finished 35th and dropped from fifth to 10th place in the points.
Brad Keselowski – 33rd. This is the sixth time in eight races this season that he finished 26th or worse.
