Viktor Hovland can see his name atop the leaderboard at Valspar Championship, but what he wants to see is his ball that shapes the way it should, repeatedly on request.
Hovland is tied to Shane Lowry for Clubhouse Lead Friday at the Innisbrook Resort Hotel. Given the way it is played recently on Thursday, it is satisfied with its position.
Thursday, in fact, what Hovaland is seen a lot last year and a half. He held the ball in front of him, did nothing wrong, made a few times and recorded 1-below 70. The problem with it, everything feels randomly. Simply as much as he could shoot at 70, he could shoot 80, which he did in opening the opening last week of the player championship, leading to a third consecutive missed cut.
This is the first tournament with a decrease of 36 holes in which Hovland will play the weekend.
Hovland is looking for what he just knows he really from winning 2023. FedExcup. Last year, he claimed in Veliko (Third, PGA), he almost won the playoffs (T-2 Saint Judas) and qualified for the tourist championship. But it was also his only top-10 final layers in the season, and this year is similar to inconsistent.

The lowering of the MC player, Hovland was not sure if he would keep his dedication to Valspar. He decided to play, with this possibly his final beginning before the masters. On Tuesday Pro-am and exercise on Wednesday there was “lots of bad shots.” Thursday wasn’t much better, he said, but “it was nice to see well” – something, which was confirmed by statistics up, has not done well for a while.
So why was he on Friday, in his words, “the way in which a bigger step” are attacked? Statistics hit a smaller order and less greenery than he did in 1. round. However, he got almost 2 ½ more punches on the field in putting than the day before. And, he just felt as if he had a little better controlled from the face of his club – but not completely.
“I still feel like I immediately got out of my game at the moment. So I don’t let me down, but to be sustainable at that level I need to hit him a little better, and that must be a little predictable,” he said. “So, I’m still working through some changes and, yes, I just have to keep working on it. But it’s nice to see that the things you do on which you work immediately, and it’s always a good sign.”
Now comes the Test Hovland greatly wishes: How his game keeps himself in the claim. It seems to be interested in the outcome as those who look. Regardless of where it is on Sunday night on the slot board, if Hovland continues to see more rows that wants and get more confidence in what will go, leave Florida satisfied – how much Hovland can be satisfied – how many hov.
“At the end of the day, yes, it’s great the tip of the lead cardboard right now, and have a chance to get in the weekend. But it’s like I’m really just caring at the things I work.” He said. “And if the ball behaves and do things I want to do, I will play a lot of great golf in the future.”
