Donald TrumpThe presidential transition team on Monday released a schedule of official parties, gatherings and other events next week that will wrap him up as the 47th president of the United States.

The four-day schedule includes fireworks and three VIP events at Trump’s golf course outside Washington, DC, as well as a celebratory MAGA rally on the eve of his inauguration.

It also includes three inaugural balls, a relatively small number by recent presidential standards, and seems even more modest given the enormous amount of money available to Trump’s inaugural committee.

The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee has raised more than $170 million, and is on track to raise more than $200 million to spend on inauguration events and operations, including news. NBC News they have reported

The non-profit committee is tasked with planning and organizing much of the festival that usually coincides with presidential transitions of power.

That doesn’t include Trump’s swearing-in at the Capitol or his inaugural address, both of which are paid for by a special joint committee of Congress.

Outside of the balls, several Trump events will be held at the golf course in Virginia, taking a break from recent inaugurations that largely kept events in Washington, DC.

Unlike in 2021, when President Joe Biden held fireworks on the National Mall in DC, Trump’s club fireworks will explode more than 20 miles from Capitol Hill, out of sight of much of the general public.

Trump’s second inaugural committee, like his first in 2017, will once again be more cash-strapped than past presidents, with far more money and fewer events to plan.

former president Barack ObamaIn the 2009 inauguration, for example, there were 10 official balls along with dozens of other unofficial events. His initial commission soared 53 million dollarsa record at the time.

Former President Bill Clinton went to a disco 14 official balls At its second inauguration in 1997, it seems to have collected less than that 24 million dollars.

The President Joe Biden It did not organize a ball in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Trump’s massive fundraising and relatively sparse schedule reflect the circumstances of his 2017 inauguration, where he raised $107 million and spent more than $97 million over two days of events.

That unprecedented jump in spending came to about $37,000 per minute, more than four times the $8,600 per minute spent during Obama’s first term in office. Calculated in 2018 by OpenSecrets.

Trump’s inaugural committee today did not immediately respond to CNBC’s questions about its fundraising and spending plans.

As Trump vows to overhaul US economic policies, including imposing hefty tariffs while cutting other taxes and regulations, some top executives and businesses appear eager to warm their frosty relationship with him.

It extends to the inaugural committee, which has received multimillion-dollar donations from a flurry of companies, including many of the tech giants that declined to help with its 2017 inauguration.

Last week, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Lina Khan suggested as much to CNBC Amazon and Facebook the parent Meta maybe get a job”dear treat“From the next Trump administration.

Perhaps in response to increased interest in betting on Trump, the inaugural committee is asking major donors to contribute at least $1 million — double what it requested in 2017 — for a chance to have one-on-one time with the president. or vice president, The Guardian reported.
