The fastest growing roles in Australia are in the education, travel and hospitality sectors; titles such as English teacher, waiter and travel specialist are prevalent. LinkedIn’s list of 2025 jobs is on the rise.
“In 2024we saw a strong focus on technology and engineering roles, leading positions like cyber security analyst, platform engineer and integration engineer (in Australia),” LinkedIn career expert Cayla Dengate said. CNBC Do it.
While these remain crucial sectors, “the shift to hospitality, travel and education in 2025 reflects broader economic and social trends,” Dengate said. “This includes the recovery from the pandemic and the growing importance of soft skills and lifelong learning.”
Notably, “English teacher” was the fastest growing role in Australia. This was driven by several factors, such as the growing need for English skills as the country’s international student population grows, Dengate said.
The recovery seen in these sectors may give job seekers an opportunity to enter or re-enter the workforce, he added.
LinkedIn’s 2025 ‘Jobs on the Rise’ report has identified the fastest growing jobs in Australia over the past three years, based on analysis of millions of jobs started by LinkedIn members between January 2022 and July 2024.
