The chances of achieving the Nascar Cup play -offs in the ordinary season without a win have decreased significantly since the beginning of the next Genera in 2022.
Only six drivers – an average of two per year – have qualified for the play -off matches for the past three seasons without an ordinary season victory.
This is compared to 14 drivers average 4.6 a year-which made the playoffs without an ordinary season victory of 2019-21.
A NASCAR official said a group would investigate the issue for next season.

Although Buescher scored 87 more points than Truex based on their end positions for each race in the ordinary season, Truex scored the final play -off match for scoring 93 more stage points than Buescher.
