The vigil was held at the ‘wall of death’ in Auschwitz, 80 years later

Auschwitz survivors have begun celebrating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Polish Nazi concentration camp.

People marched to the ‘wall of death’ and left candles outside Block 11 of Auschwitz, where thousands of prisoners were executed by SS officers.

Polish President Andrzej Duda also gave a speech during the first part of the tribute day.
