The ruling Australian Supercars champion Will Brown will return to Nascar to compete at the Chicago Street Race Cup event for Kaulig Racing, the team announced on Tuesday.
Brown will be the number 13 for Kaulig races in Chicago and a teammate for AJ Allmender and Ty Dillon.
“After watching SVG (Shane van Gisbergen), the 2023 Chicago Nascar race wins and drives myself at Sonoma last year, I was very eager to have a turn at Grant Park 165,” Brown said in a statement from the team.
“The Supercars calendar has aligned this year to give me time to come to Charlotte early to prepare the race and give the race! I looked at Kaulig this season and I am very excited to get behind the Mobilex and Shaw and Partners Financial Services No. 13!”
Jack Perkins will compete on August 30 at Portland International Raceway for JGR.
Brown comes from a 2024 season that won him the Supercars title in Australia, with five wins and 19 podium finishes, the first time in 40 years that a manager achieved a podium in each round in that series.
The 26-year-old Australian made his cup debut on Sonoma last year and rode a third entry for Richard Childress Racing. He finished 31st.
