The NFL will not order officials to throw flags to pull runners

On Sunday, officials at the Ravens-Bills game did not throw the flag to Buffalo guard Ocyrus Torrence for He drafted running back James Cook To the end zone. Next Sunday, they won’t throw the flag if it happens again.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the NFL will not instruct officials to contact him, if/when that happens in either conference championship game.

As the source explained, instructing them to call him now would represent a very big change from implementing the rules so far in the 2024 season.

However, the issue will be addressed in the offseason, as it should be. The options are simple. Enforce the rule against pulling a runner as written, or remove that rule from the rule book.

The message is now clear to the four remaining teams: pull it if you get it.
