The Haney-Garcia lawsuit is on hold. As a rematch negotiation process

According to ESPN, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have agreed to sever their charges for 90 days. They agreed to drop it.

The two fighters are reaching an agreement to fight later this year, and ending the legal dispute will set the course for the fight.

Charges against divorce

Settlement allows the case to be resolved, but it must be completed. Once completed, the case will be dismissed. Ryan says this is a prerequisite to negotiating a rematch with Hani.

Turki al-Sheikh wants this rematch. Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) filed charges after testing positive for the banned substance ostarine following his April 20 win over Devin.

Garcia is going to take a temporary battle.

Ryan revealed today that he has a secret opponent for his next fight and he can’t wait for fans to find out who it is. That’s not Honey. After how Ryan destroyed him last April, there is no great interest in the second fight between them.

He wouldn’t fight him again until he dropped the charges. It makes sense for Haney because he can make more money with Ryan again than with the lawsuit. Without a rematch, Honey finds herself fighting other fighters for less money and more risk.

Hani isn’t a big puncher, and his career prospects at 140 or 147 aren’t promising. At first he was good at moving up to light welterweight, again the old Regis progression, but it was still difficult for him to fight other fighters. They can punch and punch.

That’s why he should get his rematch with Ryan. Even if his career falls apart immediately, he’ll have that big payday to live on for the rest of his life.

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia asked the court Wednesday to stay the case against Garcia for 90 days as part of the temporary settlement, according to a legal document obtained by ESPN.

This development comes as Hani and Garcia close for a… contract.
