Two months after the inaugural TGL season, the closed golf league spread.
Golf club for the motor city representing Detroit will be the seventh team in TGL, the League established Tiger Woods and Rory Mcicroy as part of their TMRW sports company.
The motor town will not start playing until 2027. years.
They will join teams representing Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Boston, Atlanta and Jupiter, Florida. Atlanta, with Billy Horschel and Justin Thomas, won the inaugural title.
The ownership group of Motor City leads with secondary advanced partners. Directors are Michael Hamp, Peter Hamp and Kevin Kelleher, all with Detroit roots. The Hamp family was a longtime co-owners of Detroit Lion.
“This is a great time for Detroit sports and a proud moment for me personally,” Michael Hamp said. “My grandmother, William Clay Ford Sr., he was avid golfer and I believe I bring a new game format he liked would make him really proud.”
The ownership group includes the owner of Denver Broncos Rob Walton and Jordan Rose, the president of the Arizona-based Law on Rose.
Each team contains four players (Woods is with Jupiter, McIlroy with Boston).
A group that represents Dallas worked on the offer last month. With Detroit, it does not start until 2027. years, it is unlikely that the TGL would begin next year with more than his current six teams.
