Teofimo Lopez mocked Richardson Hitchins for the belt

Teofimo Lopez showed off his belt collection today at X and mocked IBF light welterweight champion Richardson Hitchins. Lopez (21-1, 13 KOs) lets Hitchins know he won’t hold the belts.

2025 forecast

Teofimo’s belts could be lost in Theo’s next fantasy match against Hitchins. This guy is going to do to Theo what George Kambossos Jr. did.

Teofimo is expected to fight two opponents in 2025: Hitchins and Jaron ‘Boots’ Enis. He can fight Hitchins in early summer and Boots in October. This could be a bad year for Lopez, as he loses both of his fights and February 2026 with his job on the line against Devin Haney or Ryan Garcia.

Lopez won’t get a lot of criticism from fans for his loss to Boots Ennis because he’ll be moving to 147 to take on the best fighter in the division. However, Theo will be embarrassed if he is beaten by Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) and faces the loser of a February 2026 rematch between Haney and Garcia.

Teofimo made himself look bad by going against promoter Bob Arum’s defense of Subriel Mathias, who said it was a busy day. The purse could have been bigger, and it could have earned more than the PPV. Turning down looks like a ducking motion to Teofimo, showing that he is scared.

Belt boast

“Yo, Richardson, you can train now, boy. You won’t get it,” Teofimo Lopez mocked IBF light welterweight champion Richardson Hitchins as he showed off his belt collection at X.

“Yo, Boots, we’re coming for three,” Teofimo said as he sought to capture Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis’ IBF welterweight title to become a three-division world champion.
