Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis mocked Teofimo Lopez, responding to his comments on Friday. Teofimo played a street vendor on the sidewalk, holding a begging bowl and trying to get money from passers-by. He wants to terminate his contract with Top Rank because he feels he is not getting the big money he deserves.
Davis showed an old post from Lopez that he would be the “highest paid” fighter in the lightweight division. That never happened. He’s out of the weight room, and he hasn’t made the big bucks that Tank and Ryan Garcia have at 140.
Teofimo seems sad because he thinks he will make more money by fighting another promoter.
Teofimo was beaten by George Kambossos, involved in two controversial fights that many fans believe he should have lost, and looked poor. Lopez is now trying to get out of his contract with Top Rank in order to join other promoters with high-paid fighters fighting on Riyadh cards.
Changing advertisers may not help Teofimo. His main problems are his lack of ability and mental strength to beat the best. Losing to Cambosos proved that Lopez can’t handle things under pressure.
His fights against Jamain Ortiz, Sandor Martin and Steve Clagett further reinforced the belief that Lopez is not equipped to fight at the highest level. In the eyes of the fans, he should have lost to Jamain and Sandor.
Ryan has a net worth of 50 million dollarsand he never won the World Cup. Tank also got a lot of money. Teofimo doesn’t seem to get the kind of dough that Davis and Garcia did. He hasn’t been consistent enough in his career since 2021, and his performance is getting worse.
“I have a video on my phone of the highest paid £135. It’s just him talking. Crazy how things turn out, and his a** is starting to look like Squidward,” said Gervonta Davis on social media, Teofimo Lopez with a sign and cup of money on the sidewalk. In answer to his supplication.
