Endicott, NY – Steve Allan has become the first winner of the wire on the wire in the Sports Robbie opened on Sunday, closing with 666 for a four-stroke victory.
Allan ended up in 18-Mandu 198 on En-Joi Golf flow for his second victory of the PGA tour champions in the season. 51-year-old Australian opened Friday from 63 for a two-stroke edge and was 69 on Saturday to take one-ride leading over Boo Weepkey in the final circle.
After playing the first seven holes on Sunday in 1 under two birds and Bahatas, Allan bought five of the next six and money last five.
“It was hard. It was hard, even yesterday, and today it was a little rough on it early with the driver,” Allan said. “In the rough much and I just managed to hang out there. Then on my back nine, he made several times.”
He also won the classic galleries at the end of March at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, California.
Jason Caron was second after 68. Weephedley (70) and Notah Begay III (67) tied to the third in 13 despite, and Soren Kjeldsen (64) was another stroke (67) and Jeff Sluman (67).
