Search for missing sabungeros starts in Taal Lake

BATANGAS, Philippines – Following leads from accused Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, the Philippine government starts the search for missing sabungeros’ (cockfighting enthusiasts) remains in Taal Lake on Thursday, July 10.

Patidongan earlier claimed that the sabungeros were already dead and were dumped in the said body of water. An accused himself over the kidnapping and illegal detention of sabungeros from Rizal, Patidongan also tagged his former boss, businessman Atong Ang, as the alleged mastermind in the case.

Ang denies the allegations.

How can the Philippine government ascertain that they will recover remains from the lake? Will the case yield possible results given that the case was already four years old?
