Sean McVay: We’re working with “full expectations” to play at SoFi

The Rams are operating with the “full expectation” that the wild-card game against the Vikings will be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night as scheduled, coach Sean McVay said Thursday. The NFL named State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, as a contingency plan for the game.

Smoke from wildfires burning in and around Los Angeles was visible Thursday at the team’s practice in Woodland Hills.

“Obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by these fires,” McVay said, via team video. “It’s one of those deals that almost doesn’t feel real, but it certainly feels real to the people who are affected. He prays that the people are well. You only see the amount of people affected. It’s one of those jobs that gives you perspective. I hope we can get these things under control.

“It was a unique week.”

McVay said some people in the building were affected by the power outage and recommended evacuation.

“And several of our staff members had their homes affected,” he said, “but fortunately, as far as I know, no one was injured and we’re grateful for that.”
