Striking a multi-year deal with the SBP, Adidas Philippines showcased for the first time the blue and white jerseys, which will be first worn by Gilas Women in the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup in Shenzhen, China, set from July 13 to 20.
Up next are Gilas Men in the Asia Cup to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in August, and Gilas Youth in the U16 Asia Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in September.
Also set to don the new jerseys are the Gilas 3×3 and eGilas teams.
“Adidas has long championed athletes from the grassroots to the global stage. We’re honored to have them as part of the Gilas Pilipinas journey, and we hope this partnership inspires future generations of players and fans alike,” SBP President Al Panlilio said.
Adidas Philippines chief Dave Sexton said that the brand wanted to integrate the country’s tricolors in each jersey, which features the AEROREADY technology made up of recycled materials.
The royal blue home and white away jerseys also feature the brand’s iconic three red stripes on the side panels and the eight-pointed sun of the Philippine flag on the neckline.
Adidas will first sell the jerseys on July 26, before Gilas Men takes on the Macao Black Bears in a tuneup game at the Araneta Coliseum on July 28.
Jerseys, priced at P3,900 each, will be first sold at Adidas’ flagship brand center in Glorietta 3 in Makati, and at Home of Sport in Trinoma in Quezon City.
Each jersey purchase comes with a limited-edition fan pack, which includes a drawstring bag, baller bands, sticker set, and postcards.
Jersey customization will also be available at an additional price.
