Midland, Mich. – Sarah Schmelzel and Albane Valenzuela took third round on Saturday at the Dow Championship, shot at 2-Malks 68 in an alternative game to move on to the first victories of the LPGA tour.
Schmelzel and Valenzuela had a total of 13 smaller 197. in the Endland Country Cup enter the final circle of better balls. They opened with an alternative recording 68 on Thursday and had the best ball 61 on Friday.
“You’re kind of on the needle most days, just hoping you don’t get your partner in trouble,” Schmelzel said. “Just super sturdy. I feel like we really had good attitudes all day. I think they both took us every shot as it came.”
Teams Jin Hee Im-Som-Som Lee (68) and Manon de Rouchard Roussin-Bouchard (69) were a stroke.
“I’m very proud of us,” De Roey said. “We were involved there. We fought to the end.”
Jennifer Kupcho and Leon Maguire, the second round, was buried the last two holes for 72 which left them in the fourth in 11 under Althews (66) and Sung Hyun Park (67). Kupcho won 2022. With Lizette Salas.
“Just try and go low and try and send a number early and see what’s going on.” Maguire said. “I think it was nice to see how twice they enter in the end.”
Lexi Thompson-Meghan Kang (68) and Rio Takeda-Miyu Yamasha (67) 10 below.
Defenders of the champions Rooning yin and the wanted thitical, both the top five in the Women’s World Ranking, was 9 below 67.
Schmelzel and Valenzuela stated the last seven holes. They had four birds and two of the Godlights in a circle.
“I feel like we had a really good day,” Valenzuela said. “Our aim in four was just to take a little better or maybe a little better. We had a few mistakes and it will happen in this format. We also did a lot of really good things.”
