Rodney Childers out as crew head of Justin Haley at Spire Motorsports

Rodney Childers, one of the winning active crew heads in the Nascar Cup series, is no longer with Spire Motorsports, the team announced on Wednesday.

Childers joined the team before the season to be the Justin Haley crew head. Their union lasted nine races. Haley is 23rd in the points. His best finish this year is the 10th on Homestead. Haley is in a 13th place in Bristol, who achieved him a season-high 13 rise.

A ‘manufacturer showdown’ will also appear in the annual exhibition match.

“Nascar is an ever-developing sport and the way to improvement is not always comfortable,” “Jeff Dickerson, co-owner of Spire Motorsports, said in a statement.” The schedule in the Cup range gave us the chance to evaluate where we are as a program. We took the opportunity to discuss the best roads for everyone involved, and the team and Rodney agreed that it would be the best for us to share ways.

“Rodney has been working at the highest level of our sport for 20 years, and he knows what it costs to win championships. With that in mind, we have joint challenges with the team dynamics. If we have the right combination of talent, we are just as important as the results on course.

The team has not yet announced a substitute as a crew head.

Childers posted on social media: ‘I know it’s a shock. But also know that not everything works out perfectly all the time. This is how life works. It was just one of the things that just didn’t work for one of us. I appreciate my time at Spire, working with JH and the entire 7 team. We have done very well that is yet to be seen, and I wish them the best in the future.

‘… for me I’m going to take some time. Focus on the important things like my family and friends. And look honestly just what the race world holds for me next. ‘

Childers came to Spire Motorsports when Stewart-Haas Racing closed after the past season. Childers, who won the 2014 Cup title with Kevin Harvick, is a second place in victories among active crew heads. Childers and Adam Stevens each have 40 cup wins. Paul Wolfe is the first time with 42 series of wins.
