This part of the calendar is usually the quietest from the point of view of the NBA transaction. The summer leagues have already been played, introducing the new talent of the league and the free agency has largely directed its course. However, this summer it has an interesting situation, with four free agents still restricted to the market.
Josh Giddey, Quentin Grimes, Jonathan Kuminga and Cam Thomas have not yet agreed to deal with their current teams, and there are not many teams with the necessary cover space to produce an offer sheet that would be difficult to match. These situations affect the construction of the list, which affects fantasy basketball. Let’s see the situation of each player and how it will affect the fantastic basketball for the 2025-26 season.
After fighting traffic in 2023-24, Giddey was marketed in the Bulls before his contract. While he boasted of a higher average score in 2022-23, last season was the best part of his guard with respect to global production. In 70 games, Giddey promised 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.2 robberies, 0.6 blocks and 1.5 three points, firing 46.5 percent of the field and 78.1 percent of the foul line. He finished his full degree in rebounds, assists, robberies, three leaders and three-point percentage, mixing well with the CBoy White guard companion.
However, Giddey’s 2024-25 season was not enough to get Chicago to commit to an extension at a time with the agreement Orlando gave Jalen Suggs (AAV: $ 30.1 million). According to the basketball monster, a first-level player in eight carpets formats, the Bulls guard ranked within the top-60 in nine cats. To subtract with the Bulls would guarantee that Giddey’s fantastic value remains, if it does not improve slightly, as this will be the first season of the team from the Zach Lavine negotiation in the commercial period of February. Giddey came in last season with a yahoo! ADP of 69, and this would probably represent its plant project this fall.
Grimes is an interesting case, as the 76ers acquired it and a second round (which would become Johni Broome) of the Mavericks in February of Caleb Martin. When the 76ers played on the rope, Grimes turned off, with an average of 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 robberies and 2.9 three points per game in 28 appearances. It is worth mentioning that Philadelphia would end the season without Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxay, who released additional offensive opportunities for Grimes and others. Few wait for Grimes to be the first player of the 50 (eight -grades), who was February 7, but he will be a relevant fantasy player in Philadelphia next season.
Although Maxay will be ready for the training field, the same cannot be guaranteed for Embiid or George. George’s state is more shocking for GRIME, depending on the starting line. Both may begin, but would require one of them (or Kelly Oubre Jr.) to defend power forward. Grimes was not in many fantasy radars before starting last season, but this will not be this fall. Should you be selected with a Top-100 selection? George’s availability to start the season will definitely affect when GRIMEs land in fantasy drafts if he returns to Philadelphia.
Warriors are the only team that did not sign a free agency this summer and Kuminga’s state has been a factor. Until this situation is resolved, Golden State cannot do much, even with the reports of Horford and the Anthony Melton that could join the ranks. Kuminga receives a new agreement that is achieved to your expectations? Or would it be an agreement for teams that has rejected? Or Kuminga signs the classification offer and is played before directing to the free agency without restrictions next summer? Phoenix and Sacramento have expressed interest in adding Kuminga, but they would both need a partner willing the warriors to execute a sign and trade.
The injuries limited Kuminga to 47 games last season, and the already poor fantastic value was further reduced after the Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler. From February 7, JK promised 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.6 robberies in 20.8 minutes, making 15 appearances. This production placed Kuminga outside the Top-350 in nine cats formats. Given his career so far, his yahoo! The ADP will probably be well below where he entered last season (91) if they remained with the Warriors. At best, Kuminga would be a player worth taking a late flyer.
Thomas may have ended last season with an average of a shameless point, but the injuries were limited to 25 games. In these appearances, he promised 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 three points in 31.2 minutes, firing 43.8 percent of the field and 88.1 percent of the free kick. Thomas ranked outside this threshold into nine cats formats. However, the low availability meant that fantasy managers be lost in the full advantages, especially with Thomas playing two games from November 27 to February 26 and their last appearance of the season arrived on March 13.
The networks are clearly in reconstruction mode, as evidenced by the team using the five of their first rounds and the Cam Johnson trade in the Nuggets in an agreement sent to Michael Porter Jr. to Brooklyn. Thomas can provide a score in this alignment, as there is a clear need for a secondary option next to goalkeeper. However, it would be given a free reintroduction, or MPJ and the young guard added through the team project would be the priority of the team? Thomas’ Yahoo! The ADP is unlikely to approach what was last fall (69), but returning to Brooklyn would make him worthy of a choice of Top-100, in the worst.
