Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has a busy schedule on Friday.
He will interview with the Jaguars, Raiders and Jets for their head coaching positions, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports. All three interviews are virtual as the Chiefs prepare for next weekend’s playoff game.
Spagnuolo said last week that he wants another chance to be a head coach.
“Well, I’ll deal with that later,” Spagnuolo said, via John Dixon of arrowheadpride.com. “I mean, yes, the answer is yes. . . . I hadn’t even thought about that path until you just mentioned it. So I’m going to let it all sort itself out.”
Spagnuolo, 65, was the Rams’ head coach from 2009-11, going 10-38. He also served as the Giants’ interim manager in 2017, compiling a 1-3 record.
Spagnuolo served as an assistant coach for five different teams, including as the defensive coordinator for three teams. He won a Super Bowl as the Giants’ defensive coordinator in 2007 and three more championships with Kansas City in six seasons as the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator.
