Report: Lions expected to hire DL coach Casey Rodgers

The Lions have spent the last few days saying goodbye to assistant coaches, but it appears they are ready to make an addition to Dan Campbell’s staff.

So are the Lions, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Expected to hire Casey Rodgers is the new defensive line coach. Terrell Williams got that job in 2024, but left to become the Patriots’ defensive coordinator.

Rodgers has been Tampa’s defensive line coach since 2019 and added the title of defensive run game coordinator in 2022. Rodgers’ contract with the Buccaneers expires after the team’s season ends, so he is free to make a lateral move.

The Lions still have to fill their offensive and defensive coordinator slots. Campbell said he will consider internal and external options for those roles.
