Now based in the US, 4th Impact ushers in a ‘new era’ as the belting Filipina sisters who became showstoppers in ‘X Factor UK’ head back to the concert stage
LOS ANGELES, California – Two years since it embarked on an ambitious quest to spread its wings in the United States, Filipino girl group 4th Impact looks set to mount a huge production to mark a career milestone.
Dubbed “Dominat10n,” the concert may just be the singing siblings’ biggest show yet in the US, and it will be mounted to celebrate the group’s 10th anniversary since being rebranded as 4th Impact.
Previously known as the Cercado Sisters, the group composed of Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina unveiled the group 4th Impact when they competed in the reality TV show X Factor UK in 2015.
“We will give everything that we have and all that we can in this concert. The people will see a new 4th Impact,” Celina, the youngest in the group, told Rappler.
The event will be held at Aratani Theater in Los Angeles on August 29, and will also feature Filipino-American artists Jay-R and Garth Garcia as guest performers.
Irene, the “big sister” of the group, shared, “[Being around] this long in the industry, this time we can show you something that we have never shown you before.”
She also said the concert will usher in a “new era” for 4th Impact.
“We’re fiercer, more powerful. We did a cover of ‘Golden’ where we said ‘we are done hiding, and it’s our time to shine.’ So we’re taking this moment, it’s our chance, and it’s our time to shine,” said Irene.
Mylene shared her excitement about having a live band in their concert for the first time, and getting their “dream musical director,” LA-based Filipino-American artist Troy Laureta, who has collaborated with the likes of David Foster and Arianna Grande.
Almira teased one special segment of the concert, proposed by Laureta himself.
“There is this number, he waited for us for so long to sing [that song]. And this is perfect for us. That’s also one thing that you should watch out for. It has the touch of magic of Troy,” she said.
Celina, meanwhile, shared that a new single will be released during the concert. The group recorded it in Los Angeles.
For Almira, the song’s catchy beat is an invitation for the listeners to get up on their feet, heeding their fans’ clamor to ditch the belting for a change.
The group already released a teaser for the new single, titled “I Bet You Never,” on their social media channels.
And the sisters are betting fans will embrace this new chapter for 4th Impact. – Rappler.com
