Ravens DC Zach Orr: I have to prepare for both QBs, but the game plan doesn’t change much

The Steelers discussed the possibility of using both of their running backs during Saturday’s game in Baltimore, and Justin Fields said yes this week part of the benefits of that comes from the Ravens preparing for a wider range of possibilities going into the game.

Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr acknowledged that such preparations are part of what the team is doing in practice this week. Orr called Fields and Russell Wilson “two starting-caliber quarterbacks” and said Fields “made some critical plays that ultimately cost us in our eyes” in the first regular-season game between the teams.

Fields had an eight-yard run to set up a third-quarter field goal and a nine-yard run that helped the Ravens run out the clock in an 18-16 victory. Orr said the Ravens need to be aware of Fields’ ability as a runner, but played down the need to come up with radically different plans for the two players.

“The game plan really it doesn’t change much for any of them,” Orr said via the team’s website. “Play good, disciplined football and we fancy our chances.”

The Steelers have lost four straight games, including a rematch with the Ravens, and their offense has been on the back burner, so it would be fair to expect them to throw everything they can at the Ravens to prevent their season from ending. Orr’s job is to make sure the Ravens are ready for whatever comes their way.
