Ram returns to the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series in 2026

Brooklyn, Mich. -The promise to “shake the sport” will return to the Nascar Craftsman Truck series in 2026 and try to pave the way for another brand in the Stellantis business to one day field in the cup series.

This is the return of the ram in Nascar since the manufacturer left the Truck series after the 2012 season. Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota and RAM will compete in the Truck series next year.

RAM CEO Tim Kuniskis said his business intended to influence the sport in a way that created a bigger fan and more avid fans through his product and experience in the track.

“Our goal is to take the 20 million (zealous fans of Nascar) and turn it into 80 or 100 million,” he said. “We have a plan. We know how we’re going to do it. We think we have a way to get to it. We think people will love the way we do it, because it’s going to be nice. Not ready to share all the details with you, but I told you that the piece of experience is going to be just a bit of how we do.

Christopher Bell and his new mocker will be tested in today’s race, especially on restart.

This included a RAM demonstration shortly before the start of Sunday’s cup race on the Frontstretch on Michigan International Speedway.

Fans who look at Prime have seen a high-energy ram ad that will return to Nascar next year just before the start of the cup race.

“We set the tone there about how we return to Nascar and it will build from that moment to Daytona (in 2026),” Kuniskis said.

Kuniskis expects four to six trucks in Daytona next February. He did not reveal any teams or drivers. Ram is expected to have the RAM body completed and approved by mid-August after a wind tunnel test.

John Probst, senior vice president of the NASCAR and chief racing development officer, named Ram’s entry into the Truck Series A ‘Big Moment’ for Nascar. This is the first time a manufacturer has joined the Truck series since Toyota has done the 2004 season.

“If we work with us (manufacturers), they made it loud and clear that they would welcome a new (manufacturer) with open arms in our sport,” Probst said. “They were very helpful in the process with RAM and some of the other manufacturers we are talking to.”

Three years ago, frustrations were big with the pit staff at 23xi Racing, but a new rent helped build the units to be one of the best sport.

But what about cup? Ram is a truck brand.

“We have cars in our business,” Kuniskis said, referring to the Stellantis, which contains 14 iconic car brands, including Dodge and Chrysler.

“We are excited that they are interested in the cup series,” Probst said of Stellantis.

The process for any new Cup manufacturer has an 18-month submission process for its vehicle, engine and other parts, which means the earliest a new manufacturer could join, would be 2027.

Probst also had an extra interest from manufacturers in the cup range.

“I don’t want to jinx myself, but I would say that we are very close with one other (manufacturer),” Probst said. “Can’t talk to them. It is clear that it is their decision to make. We would like them to decide to get into Nascar.

“Even with that, there are one or two others that we are a little earlier in the discussions, but also look very positive, but we all know that a (manufacturer) decision to get into NASCAR, it is a great commitment for them. It is not something that takes them lightly. It requires a lot of research and approval at the highest levels. We have been complied with at the moment. We like the position we are in and think we have a good investment for a (manufacturer). “
