Pro or anti? Protesters air mixed views at rally for Duterte impeachment

The rally meant to call for Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment is attended by both her critics and supporters

MANILA, Philippines – A mix of critics and supporters of Vice President Sara Duterte joined a rally in Quezon City on Friday, January 31.

The rally, calling for Duterte’s impeachment, was held near the People Power Monument, a site to commemorate the 1986 People Power Revolution that ousted Ferdinand E. Marcos.

Key figures in the rally, which ran from 9 am until around noon on Friday, included members of the Magdalo and Akbayan party-list groups.

The Vice President faces three impeachment complaints over her alleged misuse of confidential funds.
