NASCAR TO HOLD PODIUM CONVERSATION FOR TOP THREE AFRONDERS IN CUP, XFINITY RACES IN MEXICO


For the first time to a cup -points, Nascar will honor the top three Afriters with a podium celebration next weekend in Mexico.

While podium celebrations are common in other forms of races, including Formula One and Indycar, four NASCAR only celebrates the winner in his American series.

The only time Nascar had a podium celebration in the cup was for the collision during the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum exhibition races of 2022-24. This was done in a nod to the historical venue offered by the Olympics. The top three managers received medals – gold for the winner, silver for second place and bronze for third place.

NASCAR holds podium celebrations for the top three Afriters for his XFINITY SERIES and CUP series races on June 14-15 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. This weekend will represent the first International Cup Points race since 1958.

“For this historic weekend, it felt appropriate to recognize the heritage of Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and nod to the traditional international motorsport celebrations,” Nascar told NBC Sports. “There are currently no plans for podium style celebrations to the Mexico City event.”

The Nascar Mexico range will also have podium finishes after the races on June 13-14 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, just like all his races.

The Nascar Cup series is the weekend after one of its fastest tracks with a trip to Michigan International Speedway.

While podium finishes are not an official statistics for NASCAR, Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson each had the most top three finishes this season. Both have six in the first 14 head points of the year.

Bell has three wins, two runner -up and third place. Larson has three wins, one runner -up and two results in third place.

Denny Hamlin and William Byron are next with five podium results each. Hamlin has two wins, two runner -up and third place. Byron has one win, three runner -up and third place.

Ryan Blaney, who won last weekend’s race at Nashville Superspeedway. Complete the top five. He has three podiums, which achieved one win, no runner-up results and two third places.
