Daytona Beach, Fla. -Nascar shot two cups heads for the rest of the Daytona 500 weekend for a violation of the rules, the sanction body announced Thursday.
Chris Lawson, head of crew of Todd Gilliland at Front Row Motorsports, and Billy Plourde, crew head of Cody Ware at Rick True Racing, were both shot for improper weights on those cars.
The Gilliland crew head for the rest of the Daytona 500 weekend is Kevyn Rebolledo.
True’s head of crew for the rest of the Daytona 500 weekend is Tommy Baldwin.
Justin Allgaier begins Thursday night’s first qualifying race 17th.
Qualifying races at Daytona are Thursday night. The first one is scheduled for 7 p.m. The second qualifying race is scheduled for 20:45 hours ET.
Gilliland begins seventh in the second qualifying race. True starts 22nd in the second qualifying race.
