NASCAR Penalty Austin Cindric for incident at Cota

Nascar punished Austin Cindric 50 points and fined him $ 50,000 because he intentionally turned Ty Dillon in last weekend’s cup race at Circuit of the American.

After Dillon moved on the track early in the Cindric race, Cindric quickly retired and Dillon hooked to the right and turned Dillon.

Nascar filed a complaint package against the two teams and Curtis Polk on Wednesday in the US District Court.

Nascar officials said they would not tolerate drivers who hooked competitors to turn them to turn them because of the potential dangers of such an incident.

The penalty is Cindric from the 11th to 34th place in the standings after this weekend’s race at Phoenix Raceway.

Last July, Nascar Carson Hcevar fined $ 50,000 and penalized him 25 points because he deliberately destroyed Harrison Burton. Hcevar hooked Burton to the right behind while he was careful at Nashville Superspeedway.

Kyle Busch has been going on with his strong run lately.

Racing Communications managing director Mike Fudde, Nascar, said in today’s podcast of today that Cindric did not suspend a race because it occurred on a roadway with lower speeds and close constraints and the result did not draw a warning flag.

Nascar suspended Bubba Wallace for destroying Kyle Larson in Las Vegas in 2022 and suspending Chase Elliott for the devastation of Denny Hamlin in the 2023 Coca-Cola 600. Those incidents occurred at oval with higher speeds and led to caution.

Nascar also announced on Wednesday that two members of Kyle Larson’s Put staff were suspended two races for a tire that came out of his car during last weekend’s cup race at Cota. Jackman Brandon Johnson and leading tire changer Blaine Anderson were suspended.
