NASCAR CUP Beginning: William Byron claims Darlington Poland

Darlington, SC – William Byron became the first cup manager to achieve several poles this season after demanding the best starting point for Sunday’s race at Darlington Raceway.

Byron won his 15th Career Cup with a round of 170.904 MPH.

“I felt good about it today,” Byron said. “We had a good plan to go into practice. I feel like we’re always strong here. It is a very good track for our team and myself and just trying to find a decent balance. “

Hendrick Motorsports makes changes to four of the five pit crew positions in Kyle Larson’s team.

Byron is joined by Ryan Preece, who earned his best starting point of the season with a shot of 170,407 km / h.

Martinsville winner Denny Hamlin (170.354 mph) qualified third. Chase Briscoe, who won last year’s southern 500, starts fourth after a round of 170.283 km / h. Bubba Wallace (170.189) qualified fifth.

While Byron will lead the field to the Green Flag on Sunday, his teammates from Hendrick Motorsports did not do so well to qualify. Chase Elliott starts 15th, Kyle Larson starts 19th and Alex Bowman starts 33rd.
