Mexico City – NASCAR had to change this weekend’s schedule at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez after two aircraft with a cup and XFINITY team members in Charlotte were based, delaying the arrival of some drivers and team members.
XFinity practice scheduled for Friday was moved on Saturday morning. The cup of exercise was moved back on Friday afternoon. Due to changes Saturday, the qualification of the cup was moved back that day.
Sunday’s cup race was not changed. It is scheduled for 15:00 ET on Prime.
An apparent mechanical problem caused a problem with one of the aircraft that take off Nascar team members in Charlotte, North Carolina, Thursday. It has been found that a second plane carrying team members has a problem.
Xfinity driver Ryan Ellis said on social media that the “aircraft attempted take -off, a small boom, made a small boom, we are back.”
XFinity driver Austin Green said on social media that “the engine on the runway to Mexico city has blown up.”
Some members of the rabbit factory team are on their way to Atlanta and will fly commercially to Mexico. Green posted on social media that he had flown commercially from Raleigh, North Carolina
