Mohammad Siraj ignoring BCCI order after CT snub? Pacer is silent on Ranji’s involvement.

India’s fiery pacer Mohammad Siraj has been dropped from India’s ODI squad for the three-match ODI against England and also the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

As Mohammad Siraj is not part of India’s upcoming squad, the starlet will have to fulfill his domestic duties due to the recent guidelines issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the fateful Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 campaign in Australia.

Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked all Indian players to remain eligible for Indian team selection and central contracts if they are not on national duty. He ordered them to participate in cricket.

Hyderabad are eyeing Mohammad Siraj’s 2024-25 Ranji Trophy after the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 snub.

However, with the next round of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy starting on January 23, there is still no clarity on Mohammad Siraj’s participation in the first-class tournament for Hyderabad. Many top international stars including Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill are all set to play for their regional team in the next round of Ranji.

But the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) remains in the dark over Mohammad Siraj’s availability for the rest of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Hyderabad cricket team leaders are said to have had no contact with Siraj ahead of their crucial Ranji Trophy clash at home against Himalayan Pradesh in 2024-25.

Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Jagan Mohan Rao and senior selection committee chairman Harimohan Puruvu also refused to give any update on Pacer’s availability. However, Siraj has been a regular fixture for the state team Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy.

We haven’t heard anything on it from HCA: Hyderabad cricket team management.

A member of the Hyderabad cricket team’s management was quoted by The Times of India as saying: “We have an update so far. So far, we haven’t heard anything about it from HCA.

The right-arm pacer has played 76 first-class matches so far and has scalped 260 wickets with an impressive average of 26.10 and an economy rate of 3.26 in the best of 6/21 matches. He was also impressive in the recent tour of Australia, taking 22 wickets in 5 Test matches.

Mohammad Siraj also played a key role in leading the Men in Blue to the 2023 ODI World Cup Final and 2024 T20 World Cup glory as well as winning the 2023 Asia Cup. Despite his proven track record and experience, Indian selectors went with Arshdeep. Singh for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.

Rohit Sharma explains why Mohammed Siraj left the City 2025 team.

Although Arshdeep has played only 8 ODIs so far, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has insisted that the young pacer’s ability to field at any stage of the game will beat Siraj for the next eight-nation tournament, which will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20.

“Siraj, if he doesn’t bowl with the new ball, he will be less effective,” Rohit Sharma said.
