Max Homa ‘didn’t hit one crazy shoot’ in a career – the best opening to open on PGA Tour


For a guy who said his game is not “especially sharp,” Max Homa seemed like a six-time winner, Thursday at John Deere Classic.

The Homa, which did not sound an optimistic melody – in relation to his form – in his predecessor, 8-below 63 in the opening in the TPC Deere Run. It was his best result in a career on tour.

“I just did everything really firmly. I made a ton of travel. I held the driver in good points. I have to use my iron play,” he said.

“I feel like we found something with the driver, all the long clubs, and it was nice to do it for 18 full holes. I didn’t hit a crazy shot today, so it was okay.”
