Locals are using TikTok to collect donations for the victims of the LA fires

Using the power of social media, a group of street vendors have rallied a community to help those affected by the devastation of the Arcadia, California wildfires.

Jimmy Medina Jr said a live TikTok broadcast helped him buy supplies and spurred generous donations.

“Through the power of TikTok, all of our TikTok viewers sent us donations… with their donations, we are able to buy all the ingredients,” Medina Jr. said.

A donation center has been set up in a Santa Anita park parking lot, and volunteers are helping those in need.
