Kyle Larson walked away from an accident at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday while trying to compete in the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 that same day later this month.
This is Larson’s second accident in Indianapolis this year. He crashed during the open test of last month.
Larson was on his fourth round of the day when he had problems.
He crashed 3 in turn as the back of his car slides against the lane and first sent him into the wall nose. The car slides in turn 4 and hits the wall with the back of the car.
“I’m in order,” Larson told FS1. “Just had a lot of front there in (turn) 3, so just a little and feel it comes to, and it comes quickly to do it.
“I’m not too worried about it. I think we are doing well. Adjust a little on it. The track conditions will be better (Saturday). We will still be fast. ‘
Larson also said of the accident: ‘I caught a little there a little there. But again, as I said, I think we will be good. I tend to get things over quickly. I know I was spun, but my balance felt very close to being good. Just work on it a little. We’ll be fine. ‘
Larson missed Friday’s All-Star Race practice and qualifying sessions at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Justin Allgaier drove the car.
Hendrick Motorsports said the team will not participate in Saturday’s Heat Race. Larson runs Sunday’s All-Star race and has to start at the back of the field due to the driver’s change.
