Coach Viking Kevin O’Connell says last year’s 14-3 season was a big step towards getting a franchise in which he wants to go. Now is the time to record the next step.
“Like I told our team when we returned to the training camp, I think the foundation is set up,” O’Connell said on the NFL network. “Many players we have succeeded to sign a free agency or draft, they are here and they realize that they are now part of the building to even greater heights.”
To O’Connell, a larger height means a super bowl.
“The next step for this organization becomes, in my opinion, a valuable championship,” O’Connell said.
O’Connell said Vikings adjusted to the external noise, noting that last season, a little season saw on the final team with 14 wins.
“At this point last year, people talked about that team for the 14th, as if we could have the first choice in the draft,” O’Connell said.
Three seasons as the main trainer Vikings, O’Connell has a solid record 34-17 in the regular season, but he is 0-2 in the playoffs. The postseason victory is the next step.
