Kellen Moore is addressing the Cowboys head coaching vacancy

The Jaguars and Saints have requested an interview with Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. But the team that hasn’t claimed him (yet) is the one most likely to hire him for his first head coaching job.

Moore spent five years coaching for the Cowboys, four of them as offensive coordinator, and also coached under Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy.

The Cowboys and McCarthy parted ways Monday, and Moore’s name was immediately linked to the job.

Moore, the Cowboys’ backup quarterback for three years, was asked about it Tuesday.

“I spent a lot of time there, eight years, so (I) have a lot of connections there,” Moore said via a team transcript. “I like it here. I had so much fun here. It’s been a really fun process, and we’re in a really special situation right now, we get a chance to play this Sunday, we get a chance to fight for this thing, and that’s all you care about. Everything else is what it is, and we’ll see where it takes you.”

Moore is in his first season with the Eagles after one season with the Chargers following his departure from the Cowboys.
