India And Vidarbha beat Karun Nair He’s going through a dream beat right now. Nair is breaking all kinds of records in domestic cricket and is knocking on the doors for the Indian team to be selected for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Nair finally opened up after his impressive performance in India’s 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy. He still dreams of playing in India one day and encouraged him to do well.

The 33-year-old wants to focus on one innings at a time and keep working at every opportunity. He believes that hard work is the only way to success and he hasn’t done anything different yet.

“The dream is always to play for the country” – Karun Nair

Karun Nair has spoken of his dream of playing international cricket for India and wants to focus on every innings. He wants to do everything in his control and doesn’t want to think too far.

“The dream is always to play for the country. So yes, the dream is still alive, that’s why we play this game, to play for your country. So the one and only goal was to play for the country,” Karun was quoted as saying by PTI.

“I think this is my third comeback (laughs). And I have to keep doing what I’m doing now. Keep scoring every game I can. That’s all I can do. It’s not in my control,” he added.

“But until (the selection) happens, it’s just a dream. It’s not there yet. But again, like I said, I want to focus on one innings at a time,” the Vidarbha batsman explained.

“I didn’t do anything different” – Karun Nair

Karun Nair was asked about the things he changed to improve his performance. He explained that it was only hard work that got him into this situation and he did nothing different. He always had faith in him and wanted to be in a positive mindset.

“I haven’t done anything different. There’s no secret. I think it’s just hard work and persistence over the years, you know, all coming together. And maybe you can take each day as a new one and say. I’m sure I’m going to celebrate every innings I play,” Karun said. .

He worked hard again, starting from scratch while in poor condition. He talked about a positive thought process even when he wasn’t in the best shape with the bat.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. I think anyone would feel that way. But I never thought my career would end. I wondered where it was going? What am I doing? How? Did this happen?” He mentioned Karu.

“It takes a little time to get out of that stage and understand what’s happening and what you have to do. So, I told myself that I have to start again from zero. And give myself a few years and see. I can decide where it goes and then what to do, so that was my thought process,” He explained.

Karun Nair scored 752 runs in eight matches at an impressive average of 752 and a strike rate of 125.96. The right-hander has hit 5 hundreds and 1 fifty in his seven matches so far in the tournament.

Nair is the top scorer in the tournament so far. Also with his record of runs without dismissal in List A cricket. His strong performances have put him in good shape to be considered for the Indian squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Karun Nair has played 6 Tests and 2 ODIs for India. He has scored 374 runs in Tests at an average of 62.33. He scored 46 runs at an average of 23 in two ODIs.
