Ravens tight end Mark Andrews had a brutal fourth quarter in Sunday’s loss to the Bills, losing a fumble and then dropping a two-point conversion attempt that tied the game. After the game, coach John Harbaugh and quarterback Lamar Jackson defended Andrews.
“There is no one who has more heart, who cares more and fights harder than Mark. We wouldn’t be here without Mark Andrews,” Harbaugh said. “Mark will handle it fantastically, as always, because he’s a person of high character, he’s a tough person and a good person. I’m proud of him, just like all the guys are.”
Jackson pointed the finger at his own mistakes, not anything Andrews did.
“We are a team. I had two turnovers in the first half,” Jackson said when asked about Andrews. “It’s a team effort. He was breaking his back, playing for us. . . . We all played a part in this game. It’s a team effort. I’m not going to put it on Mark because he’s been fighting all season, he’s been doing great things all season.”
Andrews is one of the best players in Ravens franchise history, but the sad reality is that this could become the most memorable game of his career. On two key plays, Jackson put the ball in Andrews’ hands and Andrews dropped the ball.
