Jayden Daniels: I’m not thinking about being the first rookie QB to make a Super Bowl

Jayden Daniels’ play for the Commanders this season has sparked a lot of talk about whether he had the best rookie season in league history, and Sunday’s game could make it nearly impossible to argue against him.

If the Commanders can beat the Eagles, Daniels would become the first starting quarterback to lead his team to the Super Bowl. That accomplishment would be hard to top in terms of feathers in a rookie jersey, but Daniels said Wednesday that he’s not drawing motivation from the chance to become the first in that regard.

“I’m not even thinking that far. That would obviously be a blessingbut I’m just focused on how I can get better day by day,” Daniels said.

That focus has served Daniels well since entering the NFL and a win this week would lead to a lot of thinking about how good Daniels could be and how quickly he could reach those heights.
