Is cheese to be safe to eat?

In general, cheese should not change much in the appearance after buying it and storing it in the refrigerator. When you notice that mold grows on cheese it should not have it, such as Mozarella, Cheddar or Swiss, you should not eat it.

Most likely it will not make you sick, though, though, Johnson said. It will only not taste very good.

Craig said that for solid cheese that grows in mold in the refrigerator, such as Parmesan or Cheddar, you can usually cut rot and eating the rest. Johnson said to avoid cutting directly into the template or risk by publishing it on other parts of the cheese, and cutting an additional inch around the template to be safe.

Soft cheese, such as Ricotta or Cottage Cheese, is a different story. When you discover mold, Craig said you should get rid of the entire container, as the mold can spread even when you cannot see it.

However, at any time you see a black or dark black template that grows on any cheese, throw it away, as PNG said. It is rare but it can be toxic.

“Otherwise, the only real consequences for the referee of most molds will be an unpleasant taste and texture,” she said.
