Montreal-Wimbledon Champion IGA Sweetch easily ahead in the third round of the National Bank Open, defeated by Guo Haniyeu of China-3-5, -1-1.
For the first time after routing for the sixth, 6-6, 6-6 for his sixth Major in the Wimbledon final, Sweetch went ahead with a margin of 3-0 to win his games.
“I think I’ve played a really tight match today,” said Swetek. “After a long break from the surface, playing the first match on the hard court is always complicated, so I’m glad I just focused on myself, adjusted with the conditions and played well.”
