IBF World Cruiserweight Champion Jay Opetaya defeated David Nika in four rounds on Wednesday night at the Gold Coast Convention Center in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.
In the main event, Opetaya, 27-0 (21), stopped ‘The Nice Guy’ Nyika, 10-1 (9) at 2:17 of the fourth round of the scheduled 12 round.
In the second round, both fighters scored well in the final seconds. In the third round, Opetaya scored well and easily won the round.
Midway through the fourth round, Opetaya landed a hard uppercut that ended Nika’s 8-punch by referee David Fields. Opetia jumped on Nika and landed a hard left to the chin and went face down to the canvas before referee David Fields counted Nika out. Nika was on the canvas. It took Nika some time to get to his feet.
WBO Global and IBF Pan Pacific Heavyweight Champion Justice ‘JPH’ Honey, 12-0 (7), stopped Shaun ‘Gods Warrior’ Potgieter 10-2 (7) at 0:33 of the second round in a scheduled 10-round bout.
In the first round, Hooney hit Potgieter, who could barely stay upright. In the second round, Hunny pummeled Potgieter until referee Phil Austin stopped him.
Max McIntyre 7-0 (6) stopped Abdulsalam Sam 8-2 (1), in the fourth round of a vacant IBF youth super middleweight bout.
In the fourth round, McIntyre scored three shots to force a stoppage.
Ben Mahoney 15-0-1 (8) defeated Fan Zhang 8-3-1 (5) over 10 rounds for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific Super Middleweight title.
Heavyweight Teremoana Jr., 6-0 (6), #266.8, of Brisbane, AUST, defeated Osasu Otobon, 11-2-1 (5), #284.8, of Wiesbaden, Hessen, GR, in the first round of the schedule. Six rounds.
Teremoana landed a right on the chin in the first round and Otobo went down for the count.
Lightweight Taylah Gentzen, 6-1 (3), lost a split decision to southpaw Shauna Brown, 5-0 (3) in a 10×2 round.
Featherweight Tony Ingram, 6-1 (3), lost to Runqi FIST-OF-FURY’Zhou, 9-2-1 (3) in six rounds.

Lt Hvy Bill McAllister, 3-0 (3), #173.8, Brisbane, AUST, stopped Jordan Towns, 2-3 (1), #174.8, from Gold Coast, AUST, in the second round of the scheduled four round.
Towns’ corner threw in the towel in the second round.
Welterweight Cody Shalaly, 1-1-1, drew against southpaw Albert ‘Baby Yod’ Tulua, 1-1-1, in four boring rounds.
