NASCAR returns to its roots with the Cook Out collision at Bowman Gray Stadium on Sunday, which last more than 50 years ago for a cup series event.
After three years on a temporary short lane at Los Angeles Coliseum, Nascar moved the collision to the 0.25 mile track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, known as ‘The Madhouse’.
It is the 47th run of the collision and the fourth consecutive year that the event is held outside Daytona International Speedway, which was the host of 1979-2021.
Denny Hamlin defensive winner leads active drivers with four collision victories.
Bowman Gray Stadium’s first Nascar race was in 1949, and the oval surrounding a soccer field was the first weekly track in Nascar.
The most recent cup of cup was held on August 6, 1971 and was won by the late Bobby Allison, whose victory was finally recognized last year after a dispute over the field in the race.

Vertage: There will be a half time at cloth 100.

TV/Radio: Fox’s coverage starts at 6pm ET with the last chance qualifying race and continues through the main event, which will start at 20:00 … Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR radio will be the radio broadcast of the opportunity to 17 : 30 starts ET.
Forecasting According to Wunderground.com, It is expected to be partly cloudy with a highlight of 50 degrees. It is 48 degrees at the beginning of the last chance qualifier, and 48 degrees and a 5% chance of rain at the beginning of the main event.
Last year at the collision: At Los Angeles Coliseum, Denny Hamlin took the lead on a shot 141 restarted from teammate Ty Gibbs and detained in overtime for his fourth collision.
