Charlotte – Mired in what passes to fall for the Seven-Day winner of the PGA tour Viktor Hovland imagined not playing last year’s PGA championship in Valkalla.
Instead, he was again united with Joe Mayo’s train and spent days that led to 24. Tournaments spanning before posting his first top-10 final layer of the season behind the winner of the Xander Schaufele.
“I almost didn’t play last year, and I almost won the tournament. So I looked like a huge victory. I almost beat the big championship,” he said on Wednesday, Wednesday.
He was a timely reminder that Hovland was back in quotas with his game despite his victory on the last monthly Championship of Valspar.
“I’m still not fully satisfied where I’m in,” he admitted. “What I am satisfied is the progress I made from just before Valshapar, and even from Valspar. But there are only some things that I just don’t let me just let me just not let me play at level.”
Last year’s turn to Valhalli, as his victory last month in Florida should be ready to be reminders for Mercurial Norwegian, but even his preparation for this week PGA Championship unique.
“I’m still not registered (for the tournament). I’m just going to do this after this press conference. I just practiced,” he admitted to Hovland, who did not arrive in quail until Wednesday.
