A group of 10 MPs of Ghanaia has discussed Bill, a controversial invoice that would impose some of the strongest reductions of LGTB rights in Africa.
Bill promises a three-year prison term for people identified as gays and the ages of five to 10 years for promoters and advocates.
Legislation last year passed Parliament, but the former president, Akufo Addo, signed in the law before leaving in January, citing legal challenges.
Local and international human rights groups have been very convicted, some describe as Draconian.
The original bill expired at the end of the previous parliament. There is no clear whether the speaker of the new Parliament will accept the bill.
Gay sex is already punished for the conservative country of Western Africa.
President John Dromanani said Mahama, who preferred the invoice to protect the state, ensuring a wider support and consultation.
“I think we all have to have a conversation again, if we decide to carry that bill, go ahead with a consensus,” he said.
The assistants claim legislation to take care of what they are considered to be Ghanaian culture and family values.
However, rights groups have reduced Draconian legislation.
“The bill against LGBT is inconsistent in the face of Peace, Hospitality, Hospitality and the International Human Rights of Human Rights,” said Human Rights Watch Researchers Larissa Kojoué researcher last year.
“Such such a law could not only lead to the rule of the law, as well as the LGTB for more violence against people and allies.”
Va-Bene Elikem, Ghana Trans Women and LGTB activist, Reuters News Agency said to be a reinterroduction to the invoice “and hard processing”, but he stressed that LGBT activism would remain.
The effect of influencing the Ghana’s economy is a great deal of concern.
The former financial minister of the country warned the passage of the bill Ghana Ghana (loss of $ 2.8 million) to develop from the World Bank and influence $ 3 billion (£ 2.3bn) IMF support program.
John Ntim Fordjour said John Ntim Fordjour said Reuters should not be afraid of economic punishment, referring to the election of President Donald Trump.
“The global political climate is in favor of conservative values that Donald Trump proven the conservative pronoun of the president of the President,” he said.
The invoice entered Parliament in 2021 for the first time, but has had many delay.
