Eight perfect shots? Numbers behind Scottie Scheffler’s magnificent Saturday


By playing their last holes in 5 below on Saturday night in the converted hollow club, Scottie Scheffler received 5.2 strokes on the rest of the PGA championship. According to golf data, 3.7 of these strokes came from the drive and the access footage.

“I was well executed,” said Scheffler, whose 6-less than 65 years pushed three shots of the second place of Alex. “Pretty after holes 11, I feel like I hit a lot of really good shots.”

During this stretch, Scheffler also wildly improved his likelihood of victory. At 17:50 ET, Scheffler is 22.8% now. He will enter the Sunday at 78.2%.

“I definitely stole a couple of shots over there,” Scheffler added, “and he was a nice swing towards the end of the round.”
